DIGIFEST '08 charrette, July 26, 2-6pm, Science Centre

As discussed in a recent show+tell, in conjunction with DX, Harbourfront and the Ontario Science Centre, I'd like to invite and encourage all interested parties from the Beal Institute to participate in a charrette toward the themes and content of Digifest 08, entitled Water's Edge. Details are included in the attached invitation.

Charrette title: Adapting to Water Disasters
Working premise: “How can new media be used to connect humans back with the natural environment so we can better anticipate and respond to these disasters?”

The final generative questions are in being written by Robin Uchida in collaboration with the keynote speaker, Erik Davies, UNDP, Aceh, Indonesia. Interested participants will be able to join the Digifest08 Ning-based social network to stay involved in the conversation.

Date: Thursday, July 26, 2007
Place: Ontario Science Centre, Toronto

Time: 2:00-6:00 PM
Registration: Free. However, early registration is strongly encouraged as space is limited.
