Ilkka Heino

Research Assistant

A recent BA graduate of the University of Art and Design, Helsinki School of Industrial Design, with a minor in International Design Business Management (IBDM), Ilkka Heino joined the BISC in March 2007. In co-operation with the IDBM Progamme, he collaborated on BISC projects as well as working on his own independent research in support of his Master's thesis. Engaging in the project essay service that helps with the development of ideas, he improves his narratives and fills them with meaning, developing.

Ilkka's professional experience includes work for wearable mobile technology designer Golla Oy. As a part of the IDBM Industry Project's joint research venture with Innovation Management Institute's KIBSINET and marketing communications agency Lowe & Partners, Ilkka has also worked overseas in China researching the Shanghai Real Estate & Construction Cluster. He is also the first prize winner along with Tyko Sillanpää of the Pirkka brand's 20th anniversary product design competition hosted by UIAH and Kesko Food Ltd. for their design of the Ekoboxi, a modern recycling and storage solution. He is currently completing the second year of his Masters Program.
